When ordering a 10 lb bag, please leave out a cooler on delivery day to help prevent significant thawing.

Great as a snack or a side to your pups dog food (continue reading for serving suggestions).  Omega 3 fats found in fish like herring are crucial in a raw dog food diet to work with the Omega 6 found in beef, chicken and turkey.  The synergy between Omega 3 & 6 is vital for your dog's immune health and inflammatory response.

For more on why to include Omega 3 in your dogs diet and other supplements we recomend, check out this blog post!

Our herring is completely intact, so your dog is getting all the nutrition the herring has to offer: bone, organs, brains, skin.

Herring is a source of Vitamin D. Vitamin D is important for dogs as it helps with calcium and phosphorus absorption. Dog's don't get Vitamin D through exposure to the sun like we do, so it's important they get it from their diet.

SERVING TIPS

If this is your first time feeding whole fish to your dog, we recommend feeding outside in small amounts first and in its frozen state to help them get used to it.

The easiest and mess free way of serving is straight out of the freezer and to your dog.

To incorporate with a meal, adjust your other meat portions accordingly. I typically feed one herring to each of my dogs with dinner. When I do that, I cut down the other meat portions by 1/4-1/3 less than what I normally feed. The more herring you feed in one sitting, the less meat you include with dinner.

For small dogs, you may need to portion the herring into halves or thirds to serve with their meal. Or a whole herring could be a meal on it's own, depending on your dogs size.

Dog's love them!

First time ordering them and our labs love them!

As the other review stated, it is a large bag and they're frozen together.
I contacted Grand Dog via Instagram and they gave me the idea to throw it on the sidewalk, which worked perfectly.
I was able to separate them easily and repackage them.

Hi Carole! Thanks for taking the time to share your review and experience! I'm so glad that our tip helped you out!

Dogs love them. Would be better if they came portioned in small bunches rather than 1 big frozen block, hard to deal with and you shouldn’t thaw fish and refreeze them.

Hi Adam! Thanks so much for taking the time to review our product! We will take a look to see what can be done about the packaging. In the meantime, I do find that dropping the unopened package on a hard surface (a sidewalk outside works well) can help break up the pieces for easier serving.
